Uhhhh it took longer than expected to actually start the process of “the finishing touch” so here it is after a week long recording session and so far a week-n-a-half long mixing session. The first song of a set of seven:

The Spots - Superdunk (Public Health)

Played 30 times.

I’m gonna go up north this week and hopefully get some more demos recorded with The Spots… I’m also gonna start work on a solo album, and record some sessions with my old guitarist. I’ll be posting all the stuff I do here. Also, more writing!

I’ve been drumming for my friend Mike and we’re calling ourselves Heavier Than A Death In The Family. We’ve also got Liz on lead guitar, but nobody is singing yet, mainly because Mike hasn’t written any words to any of the songs yet. The photo is from our first show Saturday night…. It was weird; the cops were already out front when we started playing, so the atmosphere was really tense. Head Staples, liz’s other band, hardly even got to play their set before they were told that they absolutely had to turn it down. A band like Head Staples just isn’t the same without the volume…

It’s been so long since I’ve listened to Ladies Of The Canyon - totally forgot how fucking beautiful every song on this album is

Sarah Erickson - Across the Country

I helped my sister record a few of her songs the other night. She plays the ukelele, sings, and harmonizes with herself beautifully. I’ll be posting more of them in the coming days.

Hope you enjoy, ‘cause I sure as hell do. She’s a real talent.

By the way, the language she’s singing in is Greek (we are of Greek descent).

psychedelicmango:

Faust & Koll the Polar Bear 1971

This is just what I always wanted out of a music video!

I like that it’s the same angle of them engaging in heavy chillin’ for at least two minutes.

Jack Erickson - Lies

This is a rough recording, also condensed. It has hooks! Noice! Check that riff! MEATY.

Seriously though, enjoy yourselves or whatever.

Played 10 times.

Go to 1:11:40 to check out a bad quality video with bad quality sound of me playing two songs at my favorite local open mic night. The first one is performed badly, the second one decently. If you want to go through the trouble, that is. They’re both originals.
